DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a naturally occurring neuropeptide that has been studied in sleep science and neuroendocrine research for nearly five decades. It is among the more established compounds in sleep architecture and stress response research, with studies examining its interactions with the body's natural sleep and recovery signaling systems.

DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a nine amino acid neuropeptide first isolated in 1977 from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits by Monnier and colleagues during research into electrically-induced sleep states. It has been identified in various tissues including the hypothalamus, pituitary, and peripheral organs.
Sleep Architecture and Circadian Research
Preclinical research has examined DSIP's interactions with sleep-wake cycle regulation in rodent models. Studies have investigated its effects on delta wave activity in EEG recordings of experimental animals, as well as its interactions with circadian rhythm regulatory mechanisms.
Neuroendocrine Modulation Research
A significant area of DSIP research involves its interactions with the hypothalamic-pituitary axis. Studies have examined its effects on somatostatin release, ACTH and cortisol regulation, and LH secretion in preclinical models.
Stress Response Pathway Studies
Preclinical research has explored DSIP's interactions with stress response systems, including its effects on CRH signaling and glucocorticoid pathway modulation in animal models.
