This Privacy Policy explains how PEPTIVA.LIFE ("PEPTIVA," "we," "us," or "our"), a Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada registered in the Republic of Costa Rica, collects, uses, discloses, and protects the personal information of visitors to peptiva.life ("the Site") and customers who place Orders. By using the Site or placing an Order, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.

This Policy is designed to align with Costa Rica's Law on Protection of the Person regarding the Processing of their Personal Data (Ley 8968) and its Regulations.

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identification information: full name, identification number (cédula or passport), and date of birth where required for verification.
  • Contact information: email address, phone number, WhatsApp number, shipping address.
  • Order and transaction information: products purchased, payment confirmation, SINPE Móvil reference, IBAN reference (we do not store full bank details), shipping tracking numbers.
  • Site usage information: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referral source (collected through standard analytics).
  • Communication records: emails, WhatsApp messages, contact form submissions, customer service interactions.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • Processing and fulfilling Orders, including coordinating shipment with Correos de Costa Rica.
  • Communicating with you about Orders, COA requests, support questions, and shipping updates.
  • Maintaining accurate transaction records as required by Costa Rican commercial and tax law.
  • Detecting and preventing fraud or unauthorized activity.
  • Improving the Site and our services through aggregated analytics.
  • Sending optional marketing communications, only if you have explicitly opted in (e.g., subscribed to our email list).

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal information based on: (a) the performance of the contract between you and PEPTIVA when you place an Order, (b) compliance with legal obligations under Costa Rican law (including tax and commercial recordkeeping), (c) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Site, and (d) your explicit consent for any optional uses (such as marketing email).

6. Sharing of Information

We share personal information only as necessary to operate the Site and fulfill Orders, including with:

  • Correos de Costa Rica (Pymexpress), to deliver shipments — we share name, address, and phone number for delivery purposes only.
  • Banking institutions, where required to verify SINPE or wire transfer payments.
  • Service providers under data processing agreements (such as our website hosting provider and email service provider), strictly limited to providing services to PEPTIVA.
  • Government authorities or courts, when legally required to disclose information.

PEPTIVA does NOT sell, rent, or license personal information to third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy and to comply with legal obligations under Costa Rican law. Transaction and tax records are retained for the periods required by Costa Rican tax and commercial law. Marketing-list information is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

8. Data Security

PEPTIVA implements technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on the Site, restricted access to customer data, and secure storage of records. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Under Costa Rican Law 8968, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: to know what personal information we hold about you.
  • Right of rectification: to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

The Site and the products supplied through PEPTIVA.LIFE are intended for research and laboratory use by adults (18 or older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
