1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of the website peptiva.life ("the Site") and the purchase of products supplied by PEPTIVA.LIFE ("PEPTIVA," "we," "us," or "our"), a Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada registered in the Republic of Costa Rica. By accessing the Site, placing an order, or using any of our services, you ("the Customer" or "you") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or place an order.

2. Definitions

  • "Site" means peptiva.life and all subdomains operated by PEPTIVA.LIFE.
  • "Products" means the research-grade compounds and laboratory consumables listed for sale on the Site.
  • "Order" means any purchase request submitted through the Site or through any approved off-site channel (such as WhatsApp).
  • "COA" means Certificate of Analysis issued by an independent third-party laboratory.

3. Eligibility

By placing an Order, you confirm that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract, and are placing the Order for legitimate research, scientific, or laboratory purposes. PEPTIVA reserves the right to refuse or cancel any Order at its discretion.

4. Nature of the Products

All Products supplied through PEPTIVA.LIFE are research-grade compounds and laboratory consumables intended exclusively for scientific and laboratory use. PEPTIVA.LIFE operates as a chemical supplier and does not make medical, pharmaceutical, clinical, diagnostic, or therapeutic claims of any kind. Information published on the Site is educational and informational in nature and does not constitute medical advice.

By purchasing any Product, you confirm that you understand the nature of the Product and accept responsibility for its appropriate handling, storage, and use in accordance with applicable regulations.

5. Ordering and Acceptance

An Order placed through the Site constitutes an offer to purchase. PEPTIVA reserves the right to accept or reject any Order. Acceptance occurs when PEPTIVA confirms the Order via email or messaging channel and processes payment. PEPTIVA may cancel an Order at any time before dispatch, including (but not limited to) cases of pricing errors, inventory unavailability, suspected fraud, or non-payment.

6. Pricing and Payment

Prices are displayed on the Site in U.S. Dollars (USD) and Costa Rican Colones (CRC) at an internal reference rate, which may be updated periodically. The CRC price at the moment of checkout is the binding price for the transaction. Prices include all applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

PEPTIVA accepts payment by SINPE Móvil (CRC) and bank transfer to our IBAN (CRC or USD). PEPTIVA does not accept credit cards. Payment must be received and confirmed before an Order is processed for shipment.

7. Shipping and Delivery

PEPTIVA ships within Costa Rica via Correos de Costa Rica's Pymexpress service. Estimated delivery times are next business day to the Gran Área Metropolitana (San José, Alajuela, Cartago, Heredia) and one to three business days to the rest of the country. These timelines are estimates only and are subject to change based on carrier conditions outside PEPTIVA's control.

Risk of loss passes to the Customer when the Order is handed to the carrier. PEPTIVA is not liable for delays caused by the carrier, weather, force majeure, or incorrect shipping information provided by the Customer. International shipping is not currently offered.

8. Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations

Due to the nature of research-grade compounds, all sales are final once the Order has shipped. Returns are accepted only in the case of: (a) a verified product defect, (b) shipping of an incorrect Product, or (c) damage in transit reported within twenty-four (24) hours of delivery with photographic evidence.

Approved refunds are processed via the original payment method within fifteen (15) business days of return receipt. PEPTIVA does not refund shipping costs unless the return is due to PEPTIVA's error.

9. Quality and Certificates of Analysis

PEPTIVA guarantees that compounds supplied are 99% or higher purity as verified by independent HPLC and Mass Spectrometry analysis. Each batch carries a unique COA Key verifiable on the website of Brown Institute of Biomolecular Research (brown-biology.com). PEPTIVA's quality guarantee is limited to compound purity and identity as documented on the COA at the time of dispatch.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, images, graphics, logos, product descriptions, and the PEPTIVA.LIFE name and brand — is the property of PEPTIVA or its licensors and is protected by Costa Rican and international intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any Site content for commercial purposes without prior written consent from PEPTIVA.

11. Privacy and Data

PEPTIVA collects and processes personal information (such as name, email, shipping address, and payment confirmation details) only as necessary to fulfill Orders and communicate with the Customer. PEPTIVA does not sell or share Customer data with third parties except as required to deliver Products (for example, sharing shipping information with Correos de Costa Rica). 12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PEPTIVA's total aggregate liability arising from or relating to any Order shall not exceed the amount paid by the Customer for the Order in question. PEPTIVA is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or research downtime, arising from the use, misuse, or inability to use the Products.

The Customer assumes full responsibility for the appropriate handling, storage, and use of the Products in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and accepted research practice.

13. Indemnification

The Customer agrees to indemnify and hold PEPTIVA, its members, employees, and agents harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or damage (including reasonable legal fees) arising from the Customer's use, misuse, or distribution of the Products, or from the Customer's breach of these Terms.

14. Force Majeure

PEPTIVA is not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including (but not limited to) natural disasters, carrier disruptions, government action, public health emergencies, or supply chain interruptions.

15. Changes to These Terms

PEPTIVA may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published on the Site, dated above. Continued use of the Site or placement of new Orders after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be submitted to the competent courts of the city of San José, Costa Rica, with the parties expressly waiving any other jurisdiction.
